Finish These Sentences



Finish these sentences.
1.  Plural means more  than one.
2.  The opposite of plural is singular .
3.  A noun is a name of something .
Give me an example of six nouns in our classroom.
1.chair 2.board
3.desk 4.netbook
5.table 6.floor
Most nouns become plural with the addition of ‘s’ or ‘es’.  For example - hats, chairs, dishes, boxes.  There are rules about plurals.
Plural Nouns
Some nouns end in y. To make the noun plural, change the ‘y’ to ‘i’ and add ‘es’.
BUT… if the letter before the ‘y’ is a vowel, then you simply add an ‘s’ at the end.
Directions: Change the singular form of the noun to a plural form.

baby
babes
fairy
fairies
party
parties
butterfly
butterflies
monkey
monkeys
tray
trays
boy

day
daytimes
Try changing these singular nouns to a plural (some might be a bit tricky).
